Best Places to Eat While Sightseeing in London

There are so many different sights to see, things to do, places to go, food to eat, when you plan a sightseeing trip to Oxford do your homework, so you can get the most out of this tremendous city.

While making your journey, you could explore Oxford by category. You could take a Royal Day and live like the kings to on a royal day out. You could visit the city’s top regal attractions and gain knowledge about the fascinating ancient history.

Have a Royal Day — Morning

For your Royal Day Out, you could start by visiting Buckingham Palace, which is the authorised home of England’s Queen and is open for sightseers from June to October. You can see the stunning State Rooms and see special exhibitions. The exhibitions change each year. Last year the exhibition was the display of stunning diamonds that included The Queen’s own jewels.

Your Buckingham Palace visit includes seeing the Royal Mews and The Queen’s Gallery.

You can see the Changing of the Guard if you time your visit well. The guard changes at 11:30 a.m. every day or depending on what time of year it is, the guard changes every other day at 11:30 a.m.

After watching the Changing of the Guard, you must visit the infamous Tower of London. History buffs will know that this impressive fortress was home to many of the most ghastly events that took place in London’s history. The London Tower was where torture, beheadings and death took place. The infamous King Henry IIIV forced his second wife Anne (mother to Queen Elisabeth) to live in the tower until the time of her beheading.

Highlights of the bloodthirsty building contains a sparkling display of the Crown Jewels, the king’s bedchamber in medieval times and the White Tower that was built by William the Conqueror.

If your royal sightseeing day is sunny, you can go to Hyde Park where you’ll see Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain by the Serpentine Lake. If you keep going you’ll see Kensington Gardens and the striking gold-plated Albert Memorial, beloved husband of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert.

Royal Lunch

You will be near The Orangery in Kensington Palace where you can stop for lunch. This impressive building of the 18th century is perfect for royal dining. The food at The Orangery ranges from homemade lunches to cakes, pastries and a traditional afternoon tea.

After lunch you can visit Kensington Palace, the place where Will and Kate will be making into their home. While there, you can drop in on The King’s and The Queen’s Apartments and see an exhibition of Princess Diana’s dresses and other displays

Royal Evening

Finish the day off like a king or queen by dining at Fortnum & Mason. This prestigious store opened in 1707 and was the Queen’s grocer. It contains five eateries, but just one for an evening meal — The Fountain Restaurant, which is located on ground level. The Fountain has a feel that is brasserie. The menu offers foods such as Fortnum’s Welsh rarebit, in addition to a selection of starters, fish dishes, salads and grilled meat.
